The M3's on EL wont seak to anyone other than M3's

I dont live that far from GB3EL. Just a few miles as the crow flies. And i can get in on a handheld with 5 watts from indoors easy. But i have noted that there only seem to be M3's on that repeater when in listening in. Which is most often late at night. As im at work all day, and at evening classes or the health club/gym in the evenings.

Thease M3's will only speak to other M3's it seems. After several days trying i have only got a few words out of anyone. And he trys to wind me up that i have a mains hum. This is good, as it means that i must have a good signal, and of course no mains hum as im on a handheld. But its bad because they wont communicate.

Have they all been told that they are lowley M'3s and dont have the right to speak to others with higher qualifications than themselves. Or do they just think that its not civilized to speak to anyone other than other jammers and their own mates.

Im not complaining but it wasnt this way in the old days of SL.

Hi Steven, I would like to point out that im an infamous M3 and i talk to anyone on EL.

The main reason why you find only M3's on EL at night is that the jammers come up and the M3's just find it funny and continue to talk to eachother when they try to jam them, when the older crowd would not get involved or would be in bed, plus most of the M3's on EL know eachother personnally.

If you we're to come up on EL and i heard you, then i would be more than happy to talk to you as i know a bit of your history that has followed you from LW?

I would like to see more replies on Andy's blog but the old blog was more active simply because you did know who was posting comments, but now Andy does.

Come on, be brave and register and then everyone can read what your opinion is.

Thank you VTD. But i must stress that the idea that i have a "history" on LW is completely false. It is just that the cabbies who tried to monopolise that repeater for themselfs made up stories and tried to invent jammers from perfectly law abideing decent people. I never jammed, and i never squeaked.

It was so that if a 2E1 came up on LW that they would just beat him down with inuendo or jam his signal so that he could not be heard by anyone. I could not be on for half an hour and make only a few contacts without a cabbie lurching in the background and eventually acuseing me of some crime or other. I even have a log book from those days which shows all the traffic on LW while i was on, and just who i spoke to. It clearly displays that a minority would just make pests of themselfs and try to hog the repeater.

Hi Steven, I know what was said about you on LW and yes they do think that LW is their repeater and totally agree that when anyone other than a cabbie comes onto the repeater, one of them will pipe up and say something.

You we're as in most cases, wrongly accused of some kind of jamming not just by a cabbie, but also from a very well known G1??? who as now gone very silent, why? i dont know and i dont care as he was a pain in the rear end anyway.

Anyway, i will now come onto LW a lot more and i will call for you and lets see if some cabbie will take over and try and shut me up

Most certainly a cabbies sidekick and general dogsbottom. The only ones who ever persecuted the 2E1,s on LW were all at least most subserviant to the cabbies. Probably because they were impressed with them. Give the cabbies their due they do work hard for their knowledge. But after ten years in the despatch industy i am not so bowled over myself.

Many thanks for coming to find me on EL last night and making your point very clear about LW and other things.

It is shame that you do not have a better antenna arrangement so we could talk better on other repeaters and im not sure what your reasons are to why not?

We will talk soon so take care and 73 for now.

In the light of our chat last night i have sorted my set up a bit. I hve got my 2 old Icom IC2E,s out and cahrged them up and put up an old Yaesu 2 meter rig with a base aerial. I acnt do more than 4 watts on thease. But i was working EL last night at around 2 am and today at around 1745. It all works well.
